Dr. Leyna May-Gurr

Dr. Leyna May-Gurr is a mathematician, software developer, and lecturer at the Munich University of Digital Technologies & Applied Sciences (MUDT), where she teaches Mathematics and Python Programming.

She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Sheffield, UK, specializing in algebraic topology. Her doctoral research explored mathematical structures, hidden symmetries, and operads. She also completed her Master's research at Durham University, focusing on Morse theory and differential topology.

Alongside her academic research, Dr. May-Gurr has experience teaching mathematics and programming to undergraduate students, including those in engineering and mathematics. Her work combines theoretical mathematical concepts with computational approaches, including the development of Python algorithms to investigate mathematical problems.

Beyond academia, she has practical software development experience using Python, JavaScript, React, Vue, Node.js, and FastAPI, with projects involving interactive simulations, mathematical modelling, and web applications.

At MUDT, Dr. May-Gurr combines advanced mathematical expertise with hands-on programming experience, helping students develop strong analytical, computational, and problem-solving skills essential for software engineering, artificial intelligence, and other digital technologies.
