The Munich University of Digital Technologies & Applied Sciences is seeking to fill the following professorships positions:
1) Professor (m/f/d) for Software Engineering with solid knowledge and practical experience in software development, especially in the following areas:
• Agile development and project management methods (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, SAFe)
• CI/CD, automated testing, software quality assurance
• Microservices, containerization, distributed systems
• Preferably Artificial Intelligence
2) Professor (m/f/d) for Digital Industrial Engineering with solid knowledge and practical experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Embedded systems and microcontroller programming
• IoT platforms and sensor integration
• Communication protocols (e.g., CAN, MQTT, Modbus)
• Real-time systems and safety-critical software
• Preferably applications of Artificial Intelligence
3) Professor (m/f/d) for Cyber Security with solid knowledge and practical experience in one or more areas of Cyber Security, including:
• Secure software architectures
• Penetration testing / Ethical hacking
• Security monitoring, forensics, and incident response
• Cloud and network security
• ICS and OT security
We expect applicants to be willing to assume leadership roles in the study programs and within university governance, as well as to actively contribute to the development of research and innovation.
Applicants must meet the requirements of the Bavarian Higher Education Innovation Act and specific university requirements:
• A completed relevant university degree
• Teaching aptitude and willingness for problem-based teaching and coaching of active learning
• Demonstrated scientific competence, usually proven by a doctoral degree
• Distinct achievements in applying or developing scientific knowledge and methods in at least five years of professional practice, with at least three of those outside of higher education
• Willingness to fulfill the duties of a professor at a private university, particularly in public engagement and student support
Given the international and inclusive orientation of the university and its English-taught programs, appropriate English language proficiency is required. Experience studying or teaching at an English-speaking university is an advantage, as are:
• Industry experience in the relevant field
• Proven success in higher education teaching or publications in the relevant subject areas
• Social skills such as strong leadership and the ability to inspire and motivate a team
• Excellent communication skills
Job sharing and part-time employment (≥80%) are possible. Compensation is based on the Federal Salary Act, category of W2 or W3.
Appointments are made in accordance with the university’s statutes and appointment regulations. Final appointment decisions require the approval of the relevant ministry.
